Welcome!

Sagalund is a living museum, a garden and a children’s cultural center. According to its founder Nils Oskar Jansson “a piece of poetry come true”.

Sagalund, founded in 1900, is Finland’s first open-air museum. Here you can find buildings from the Kimitoö history: a court house, a croft, a farmhouse, a villa, two old schools and inspiring play environments for children. All located in a lush garden established in 1900.

The museum area is open in the summertime, but the main building which includes an atmospheric lunch cafe Café Adèle and a lovely museum shop is open all year round. There are even many events for the family all year round. Also groups can book guided tours, drama experiences and workshops all year round.
